North Miami became a busy city
North Miami City became a busy city with its 60,000 residents and uncountable housing developments. North Miami counts with a very cultural community as well as institutions supporting it. From the early years of 1950’s decade to the 80s, North Miami City supported itself as the film and video capital of Miami-Dade County. North Miami is home of WPBT-PBS 2 which was previously known as Studio City. Additionally the Greenwich Studios were known as Ivan Tors MGM Studio where Flipper the dolphin was filmed on several occasions for movies in the 60s.
The City of North Miami is proud of its growing and especially in the Real Estate industry where a new project of more than 6,000 units, a town center and a hotel is in the works. Among many other projects there is a contract-agreement between the city and Swerdlow-Boca developers to build a high-school charter school in the nearby area of the North Miami Stadium. There are also plans to build an Olympic Training facility for sports like judo, karate and tae-kwon- do. A new library is included into the project along with affordable housing. Developers are studying the number of available units in Biscayne Landing to build or to be restored in the city. |
