Artists in Palm Beach County call for affordable housing
A nonprofit communal of local artists, who are members of the Flamingo Clay Studio of the Palm Beaches, stated that there are numerous local ceramic artists with no space to craft in. Artists in Palm Beach County call for affordable housing in studios where they can congregate and create. But, according to some reporting on the matter, there is no affordable housing for local artists in Palm Beach County. And, from above all, the truth is that it has been detected in the community a real growing in regards to art students and professional artists in the field of drawing, sculpture, painting and photography. They really need a space to create in with proper lighting and water.
Art leaders propose nonprofit artists look for vacant houses in less-desirable areas, where reasonable rates can be discussed better.
In Delray Beach, leaders stated that they would be interested in offering tax incentives to those establishing places where artists could work and live. There is a cultural plan specially made by the city and released in last February in which recommended buildings for artists and the creation of a cultural district.
